The Massey Chemistory Competition

Winners of the 2010 bursaries were:

Each winner receives a $2,000 bursary upon enrolling for a first-year chemistry paper at Massey University in Semester 1, 2011. In addition, each of the winners' schools gets a $500 award to be spent on chemicals or equipment.

  • Max Dietrich of Palmerston North Boys High School.

  • Anushree Sen Gupta of Palmerston North Girls' High School
    Read her winning entry The molecule that changed the course of chemistry which was published in the Manawatu Standard.on 4 February 2008.
  • Jessica Salisbury of Hamilton Christian School
    Read her winning entry Chemistry and plastics which was published in the Manawatu Standard.on 11 February 2008.
  • Stephanie Downey of Westlake Girls' High School, North Shore City
    Read her winning entry The benzene dream which was published in the Manawatu Standard.on 18 February 2008.

Winners of the 2006 competition were:

  • Matilda Newton of Wanganui Girls College won a $1500 rebate of her fees when she studies towards a BMLS degree at Massey University in 2007. 
    Read her winning entry, My Chemical Romance, which was published in the Manawatu Standard newspaper.
  • Lee Wilson of New Plymouth Boys High School who won $250 of book tokens.
    Read his winning entry, The Chemistry of Electronic Paper which was published in the Manawatu Standard newspaper.

Winners of the 2005 competition were:

  • Kerry-Betz-Stablein from St Peter's College, Palmerston North who won a $1500 rebate of her fees when she studies towards a B.Sc. degree at Massey University in 2006. 
    Read her winning entry, Where size is everything, which was published in the Manawatu Standard newspaper on Monday December 12, 2005.

  • Kylie Bell of Palmerston North Girls' High School who won a $500 prize from New Zealand Pharmaceuticals. 
    Read her winning entry, Natural chemistry, which was published in the Manawatu Standard newspaper on Monday December 5, 2005.

  • Vinay Udyawer from Palmerston North Boys' High School who won a $250 voucher from Bennetts Bookshop who will be studying for a BVetSci at Massey University in 2006. 
    Read his winning entry, Addictive Chemistry, which was published in the Manawatu Standard newspaper on Monday December 19, 2005.

  • Daphne Cohen of Hutt Valley High School who won a $200 voucher from McGraw-Hill publishers. 
    Read her winning entry, Remarkable phlogiston, which was published in the Manawatu Standard newspaper on Monday December 26, 2005.
